Today’s Reading: Psalm 102-104
It is intersting how some Psalms seem to resonate with contemporary Christians, while others go largely unquoted and unknown. From Psalm 103, I recognized verses using in a couple of songs and a couple that are often quoted. Psalms 102 and 104 don’t seem to have quite that level of popular recognition. [...]

Today’s Reading: 1 Chronicles 7-10
Today’s reading sees an end to the genealogy lists and rejoins the books of Samuel with a synopsis of death of Saul. It’s noteworthy that Chronicles puts the fault for Saul’s fall squarely on his failure to follow God’s command and his consulting a medium. Seems like a pretty good example [...]

Today’s Reading: Psalm 81, 88, 92-93
How great are Your works, O LORD!
Your thoughts are very deep.
A senseless man has no knowledge,
Nor does a stupid man understand this:
That when the wicked sprouted up like grass
And all who did iniquity flourished,
It was only that they might be destroyed forevermore.

If God came through before (and He has), He will again. (Psalm 77)
God doesn’t [...]

Today’s Reading: 1 Chronicles 3-5
More genealogies.  It is interesting how God includes little glimpses into some the lives we go whizzing past, maybe not enough for a full character study, but just enough to remind us that these were real people with real lives and that they were a part of His plan.

ReadingThru: Psalm 43-45, 49, 84-85, 87

Today’s Reading: Psalm 43-45, 49, 84-85, 87
More Psalms:
Vindicate me, O God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation;
In Psalm 43, the writer is asking for deliverance, not from some over due bills, or a head cold, or some people that don’t appreciate his choice in faiths, but from a whole, ungodly nation and and [...]
